Constructed in 1902, Leap The Dips is the world's oldest roller coaster. Hundreds like it once existed, but this is the last remaining "side-friction" coaster in the country — so called because side-mounted wheels on each car guided it along the track. This coaster kept running until 1985 but then fell into disrepair.
