| Leap The Dips Lakemont Park, Altoona, Pennsylvania, USA Constructed in 1902, Leap The Dips is the world's oldest roller coaster. Hundreds like it once existed, but this is the last remaining "side-friction" coaster in the country — so called because side-mounted wheels on each car guided it along the track. This coaster kept running until 1985 but then fell into disrepair. |
